Kerabit is a high-quality Finnish bitumen brand. The Kerabit bitumen products manufactured at our Factory in Lohja have the Key Flag label as an indication of high quality and finnish work. Kerabit bitumen fabrics have been manufactured in Lohja since 1955, first under the brand name Pikipoika and since 2003 under the Kerabit brand.
Low-carbon construction in focus
Today, we are investing especially in low-carbon construction products. In our Kerabit Nature products, a significant part of the bitumen has been replaced by tall oil. Carbon bound to tall oil compensates for the CO2 emissions of bitumen in the product. In addition to nature products, our range includes solar and green roof solutions.
The house Vortex's water cane was selected as a low-carbon Kerabit Nature®. The LESSNOX ® coating of the superficially neutralizes nitrogen oxides and, thanks to its light colour, reduces the need for cooling indoors.
Kerabit Nature water enading enters the Pyörre House
In Kerabit Nature® products, a significant part of the main raw material, or bitumen, is replaced by tall oil, making the product the most low-carbon water cover on the market. The use of tall oil does not affect the technical characteristics or appearance of the products.
The water roof of the Pyörre House is strictly kerabit Nature LESSNOX®. This means that the product has a LESSNOX® coating that breaks down nitrogen oxides produced by transport and industry that are harmful to humans and nature. In addition, the sprinkler is lighter than usual, thus helping to lower the temperature of the roof, thus reducing the need for cooling indoors under the roof and improving the yield power of solar panels designed for the roof.

Kerabit Nature bitumen creams are recycled to asphalt
We recycle second-hand cream from the manufacture of Kerabit Nature products in connection with product exchanges, scraps delivered by customers and Kerabit Nature creams later dismantled from renovation sites as raw material for recycled asphalt.
The pieces left over from the Vortex house are recycled as raw material for the recycling asphalt applied to Talo Modi's yard!
